On April 9, the U.S. will slam imports with up to 54% tariffs. China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the EU. China is striking back with 34% tariffs on all U.S. goods starting April 10. This isn’t just a trade war. It’s economic warfare and Donald Trump’s administration started it.
These are not distant headlines. This is your paycheck. Your rent. Your grocery bill. Prices are going up.
Clothes and shoes will cost more — 97% of what we wear is now going to cost way more.
Cars? Add $2,500 to $20,000 depending on where it’s made.
iPhones and electronics — expect 54% higher production costs.
Coffee, chocolate, fruit, vegetables, seafood — all going up.
Wine, whiskey, and spirits - Add 10–20%.
Toys, appliances, furniture, Christmas lights — yes, even your holidays will cost more.
This is inflation wrapped in nationalism and sold as strength. But it hits working families, not the billionaires. They’ll just pass the cost on to you.
What they don’t want is for you to fight back. So here’s how we do it:
Buy smart. Stock up on essentials now. Buy local when you can. Avoid the brands cashing in on the chaos. Avoid Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
Use your voice. Talk to your neighbors. Write to your school boards, city councils, and state reps. Local power matters more than you think.
Refuse the spin. Don’t buy the lie that this helps American workers. It helps billionaires and CEOs and it distracts from real economic fixes.
